Casa Cura matcha is grown in Uji, a particularly special place with a cool, misty microclimate which creates the slow-growing conditions that have helped make the region synonymous with exceptional Japanese tea for centuries.
The young leaves are harvested, steamed to halt oxidation, dried to create tencha, and slowly ground into an exceptionally fine powder. Unlike an ordinary cup of tea, where the leaves are infused and removed, with matcha you consume the ground tea leaf itself.
